The Chef's Table Secrets

Privacy & your choices

Your account signs you in. Your profile controls what others see. Your private CV and applications are separate.

What CTS uses and why

CTS uses your verified email and password to sign you in, secure your account and send alerts if enabled. Passwords are stored as salted hashes, never as readable text. Email codes are used to confirm registration, reset a password or sign in when you choose that option. Profile information is used for the visibility and community features you choose. Private CVs, uploaded files and job applications are used to provide the services you request and to handle the recruitment you choose to join.

Applying for a job

Before applying, you choose a CTS CV or uploaded CV. That version is frozen and shared with the reviewed, authorised hiring team for that business. Other employers and followers cannot open your application. Typed phone/email details in the private CTS CV are omitted from the application snapshot; an uploaded file may contain contact details you have included yourself. Review it before submitting.

Recruitment access expires 180 days after submission, or sooner if you withdraw. The retention process removes expired recruitment copies. This is CTS's starting retention policy, not a claim that law sets a universal 180-day period. We review records for applicable legal duties, disputes and rights requests. Your separate account/profile and private CV remain until you change them or request account deletion; retention exceptions require review.

Messages, notifications and safety

Applications and conversations are accessible after signing in, with recent sign-in for hiring access. Email alerts contain a generic notice and a link—not CV attachments, application answers or message bodies. Authorised recipients can still record information they see; CTS does not claim to prevent screenshots or copies.

CTS keeps limited verification decisions, commitments, reports and access logs to operate the service and investigate abuse. Email confirmation proves control of an email, not a person's qualifications. Business review is a manual check of submitted and independently checked information, not a guarantee of a vacancy.

Legal basis and your rights

Processing grounds depend on the purpose: providing requested services, documented legitimate interests such as security and fraud prevention, applicable legal duties, and optional consent where appropriate. Accepting terms is not blanket consent for unrelated use. Marketing and an optional future talent pool are not enabled by submitting a job application.

You can request access, correction, erasure, restriction or object where applicable. An erasure request is reviewed rather than treated as an immediate deletion. The site operator and support contacts are listed on the legal page. You may also contact your data protection supervisory authority, including Ireland's Data Protection Commission.
